Knox County Day of Caring 2012

2012 Day of Caring

The 15th Annual Day of Caring for United Way Agencies was held on Wednesday October 3rd in the Knox County Area. This annual event is an opportunity for businesses and community members to assist United Way Agencies with jobs they have not been able to get done. It is a great opportunity for the Agencies as they supply the materials and supplies and get the people power to accomplish some tasks. The community gets an opportunity to share their expertise and time with the agencies along with learning more about the services they provide.

There were United Way Agency projects in this year's Day of Caring. Landscaping, painting, clean-up are just a few of the tasks that were completed. Volunteers were stationed at Dollar General on 6th Street and Jay C Foods to collect donated items for some of our agencies. We had 138 individuals participate. Our sponsors provided a tee shirt for each individual participating along with transportation vehicle coordination. Sponsors for this year’s event were:, Dollar General, Good Samaritan Hospital, Memering Motorplex, Old National Bank, Vincennes Fire Department, Vincennes Water Utilities and Washington Christian Center.
